After only six months with the Nokia E63, it only took one small accident to leave a large crack in my Nokia E63 screen. Devastated! It made me wonder how many people out there are harbouring cracked screens of the like and how long did you have your phone before it happened? I am not sure why none of my previous Nokia phones suffered this fate but I imagine it had to do with the transition from candybar phone like the E65 and 6230 to the smartphone QWERTY phones which are a little wider and therefore giving more room for damage. I can only imagine what it would be like to use an iPhone then... or do they have better screens?
Anyone know how to fix a cracked screen at a price less than a new Nokia E63?

Man! Sorry to see that happened, did a quick ebay search and found that you can get replacement housing in different colours for around AUD$25.
ReplyDeletePaddies Flemington do glass replacement normally for about $20
ReplyDeleteIf it is just the housing, can find replacements on eBay for US$13. If it is the LCD glass, this is more costly.
ReplyDeleteyou are lucky. my phone was just 2 months old, the LCD screen actually cracked with just a drop.(a light one)
ReplyDeletethis happened mine too ! soo annoying :( had it a week and lightly dropped it.. screen has a massive crack
ReplyDeleteUgh. My phone took its first fall, it was a gift for my birthday! Not only did the housing crack, but so did the LCD screen!!!! I'm going to try my luck with ebay.
ReplyDeleteI've had my E63 fall a few times. Besides a scratch on one corner it has been no worse for the fall. Do they build them stronger these days?
ReplyDeleteMy daughters dropped her phone on the carpet and ended up with a crack right across the screen, have tried everywhere for a replacement screen with no luck
